Are you familiar with NASBA’s Experience Verification service? If not, this is the blog for you. We recognize that many applicants for licensure have difficulty finding an actively licensed CPA to sign off on their experience requirement. Therefore, the Experience Verification service is our effort to address the needs of both domestic and international licensure applicants by providing access to an interview with an actively licensed U.S. CPA, while also conducting a thorough authentication of the applicant’s work experience.

So, are you ready to begin? There are a few things applicants must have first. Interested applicants must have passed the Exam or International Qualification Examination (IQEX), met the board’s educational requirements for licensure, and have at least 2,000 hours of work experience within the time frame specified by the jurisdiction. Once you have these completed, the process is as easy as 1, 2, 3 and 4.

It is important to note which jurisdictions are eligible for this service. As you will see in the map below, NASBA will offer Experience Verification for licensure in the following jurisdictions:

If the highlighted areas in the map include your state, you can download the requirements form from this page. Understandably, you may still have some questions. If so, be sure to visit the Experience Verification FAQ page on nasba.org.
