How long is the Experience Verification process?

The entire process typically takes 4-6 weeks, but in rare situations may require up to 12 weeks. This is a very thorough service, and you will receive guidance from the NASBA Client Manager every step of the way.

Where can I go for more information about licensure requirements?

We recommend the Accounting Licensing Library (ALL). This is a reliable resource that is owned and updated by NASBA. You can register for a one-day pass for $10 USD and use the ALL research tool, which filters the jurisdictions by varying requirements, such as education credit requirements, states that require an ethics exam, Social Security Number requirements, etc.

I have had additional education since my education evaluation for Examination. Will I need a new education evaluation for licensure?

Yes, you will be required to obtain a new education evaluation for licensure. It is perfectly fine to send the request for that evaluation while in the Experience Verification process, but please understand that these two services are separate.

What do I need for the interview with the licensed U.S. CPA?

The interview will be conducted either over the phone or through Skype video conferencing software. Your surrounding environment must be quiet and free of distractions.

Will a translator be provided for the interview?

Translators are not currently provided for the interview, but this is a service we are exploring.

How should I decide which jurisdiction to apply to for licensure?

Discussing your work experience with the NASBA Client Manager will be a good way to select a jurisdiction. Simply fill out the interest form and you will be contacted within three business days.

What documents will I need for the Experience Verification service?

The verification process will require you to upload copies of your passport, certificate of name change (if applicable) and a letter of authorization. You will not be required to send in hard copies of any documents.

Will I receive a copy of my report?

Yes. You will have access to a report on your work experience verification as well as the final recommendation from NASBA to the Board.

What types of payments will NASBA Experience Verification accept?

Credit card payments are accepted through our online application system.
