You’ve Received Your Notice to Schedule, What Should You Do Next?

As a CPA Exam candidate, you may be wondering what the next steps should be after receiving your Notice to Schedule (NTS). First, verify all the information is correct. Be certain the name appearing on the NTS matches the name on the identification documents you will use during check-in at the testing center. If anything is incorrect or your ID and NTS do not match, contact your Board of Accountancy or NASBA’s CPA Examination Services (CPAES) team to request a correction.

If all is correct on your NTS, then you can proceed. If you are planning on sitting for the CPA Exam in the U.S., including Puerto Rico, the District of Columbia or the U.S. Virgin Islands, you are ready to schedule your Examination.

If you are planning on sitting in Guam or in any of the approved international locations, there are a couple more steps and additional fees you must pay before scheduling your appointment. Please visit nasba.org for detailed information on how to pay the additional fees before scheduling.

CPA Exam – International Administration | NASBA

Ready to schedule? Grab your NTS and head here: CPA | Prometric.  You will notice “ACTIONS” on the left side of the screen. Here, you can locate a test center, schedule your Exam, confirm, reschedule or cancel your appointment.

Click on “Schedule.”  Read the “Identification Policy” then click the arrow to move forward.

Read and accept “The Uniform CPA Examination Conduct and Non-Disclosure Agreement,” then click the arrow to move forward. If you do not accept the terms of the agreement, you will not be able to move forward.

Read and consent to Prometric’s “Personal Data Privacy Disclosure and Consent,” then click the arrow to move forward. You will not be able to move forward without consent.

Enter the Exam Section ID, which is listed on your NTS, and the first four characters of your last name and then hit submit.

You will see an “Exam Selection” screen, which verifies the section you are wishing to schedule. Click the arrow to move forward.

Type in your address and the date range that you are looking to schedule your Exam. This date range only covers a two-week period. You cannot view dates after the expiration date shown on your NTS.

Select your testing date. Then, select your testing time and click the arrow to move forward.

You will need to enter your profile information. Be sure to enter a valid email address as your appointment confirmation will be sent there. Your confirmation number is required if you ever need to reschedule or cancel your Exam appointment. Then click the arrow to proceed.

The final page is your “Appointment Verification.” Verify that all the information is correct and click “Complete Appointment” to schedule the Exam.

Print the confirmation number for your appointment and retain for your records. This confirmation page will also be used if you need to reschedule your appointment.

Lastly, please remember you MUST bring your NTS and appropriate identification to your appointment.  If you fail to do so, you will not be admitted into the test center without the correct NTS and you will forfeit all Examination fees for that section.
