Enforcement NewsletterMay 2015There are 50 Boards of Accountancy participating in the Accountancy Licensee Database (ALD) and CPAverify. Three of the remaining five boards are working on their implementations. We also have several re-implementations underway. The nature of IT is that technology is constantly changing. At any given point, many different state agencies are in various stages of updating their systems – upgrading to a new one, ending a relationship with a previous vendor, or forging a new relationship with a another one. As this happens, the ALD data feeds of the effected Boards must be re-established based off the new systems. As you can see in the map below, five of these re-implementations have been worked on in the past year and there are four more anticipated in the next year or so. It’s very important that you let NASBA know if you are expecting a licensing system overhaul so that staff can start working with you and your IT resources to make the impact on the ALD as seamless as possible. It is important to avoid any disruption in the data feeds as a result of the transition, so it is ideal to develop the new data extract in tandem with the system upgrade. If you’ve been putting off enhancing your own ALD feed, we urge you to make this project a priority and help make the most robust database possible, so as to help all boards with their enforcement efforts. There is no better time than in the early stages of a re-implementation to include vital improvements like disciplinary data, firm data, or automation. Thanks for keeping the ALD in mind as you improve your system! The following are State Boards of Accountancy categorized by participation in ALD and CPAverify:
