We are very pleased to announce that we will be launching CPAverify.org, the public facing version of the ALD, during the upcoming NASBA 2011 Annual Meeting. A national database of this kind has been requested for some time by various stakeholders, including firms, federal agencies, CPAs and the public at large and with the adoption of mobility legislation in almost all jurisdictions, the need for such a resource is more urgent than ever. To address this growing need, NASBA worked with its member boards to design an outward-facing version of the ALD that has been used by authorized state board personnel for years.
It is important for the protection of the public that a national resource be available to provide CPA licensee information across jurisdictions. As such, NASBA is committed to help in any way it can to overcome any obstacles to participation, whether they be legal, technology driven or resource related.
