SHARE: Gaps between the actual and the expected future are what Oren Berkovich, CEO of SingularityU Canada, calls “blindspots” and he advised the Annual Meeting that when it comes to technology, we all underestimate the future. The key to successfully leading in today’s environment is to “develop the ability to purposefully choose which mindset to bring to which present or future reality.” People are tempted to go back to what they comfortable with, but “sometimes the best leaders are the best learners,” Mr. Berkovich observed. “The role that you play in the future really depends on your mindset. Every day you wake up is an intersection of capability and opportunity. There are so many reasons to opt out: You could focus on the present, or very near future, or you could choose to be engaged.” |
