SHARE: The participants in the 2018 NASBA Conference for State Board Legal Counsel once again praised the event for enabling the attorneys to interact with their peers serving other Boards of Accountancy. This year 34 attendees exchanged information and reviewed the implications of recent legal cases impacting the State Boards of Accountancy. A presentation by BDO’s Jeff Ward and Greg Schu on “Blockchain: Why is Everyone Getting Excited About This Technology?” laid out for the attorneys some of the challenges CPAs recognize in this area. Mr. Ward commented, “Blockchain is here to stay” and reported that his firm had joined with others in the Accounting Blockchain Coalition to keep current with its rapidly changing elements. |
