Founded in 1908, NASBA serves as a forum for the nation’s 55 State Boards of Accountancy, which administer the Uniform CPA Examination, license more than 650,000 Certified Public Accountants and regulate the practice of public accountancy in the United States.

NASBA’s Nominating Committee (Committee) is now seeking members interested in serving as Vice Chair of NASBA for the 2018-19 year. All Boards of Accountancy are encouraged to discuss possible candidates for consideration by the Committee. Any qualified member can directly submit his or her interest to the Committee.

NASBA’s success is implicitly linked to the quality of our volunteers who provide invaluable knowledge of the profession and the public.

BYLAW EXCERPTS:

4.5.9 To be eligible to serve as Vice Chair, an individual must have served as a Director-at-Large or Regional Director for a minimum of two years, but need not be a current member of the Board of Directors at the time of his or her election.

7.3 Nominations and Election Process.

7.3.1 At least 60 days preceding the date of the Annual Meeting of the Association, the Nominating Committee shall deliver to the Chair a report which shall include its Annual Nominations as described in Section 7.2.2.

7.3.2. The report shall be included with the notice of the Annual Meeting as described in Section 6.3, and shall be presented by the Nominating Committee during the Business Session at the Annual Meeting.

7.3.3 Nominations for any elected position, including a vacancy in the office of Vice Chair, may also be made by at least five Member Boards, if filed with the Chair at least 10 days prior to the Annual Meeting (or the due date set for the mail ballots for Vice Chair).

7.3.4 No nominations from the floor or otherwise will be recognized.
