Chair Theodore W. Long, Jr., CPA, began his inaugural address with “Promises, Promises. Who hasn’t said or heard the phrase, Promises, Promises? One thing that is promised is tomorrow…regulators must adapt to changes to ensure a safer tomorrow for the public they serve.”

There are three promises that must be kept by NASBA and Boards of Accountancy: 1-To enforce board’s rules and regulations; 2-To guard against deregulation; and 3-To engage in the evolution of the profession. Chair Long, in his role as chair, personally promised to act on behalf of the state boards.
