NASHVILLE, TENN., (JUNE 2, 2016) — Ken L. Bishop, President and CEO of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA), has named Sheena P. Murphy, CPA, as the new director of the CPA Examination Review Board (ERB).

In this role, Murphy will lead the ERB’s charge of reviewing and evaluating the appropriateness of policies and procedures utilized in the preparation, grading and administration of the Uniform CPA Examination, and other examinations, in general use by the 56 U.S. State Boards of Accountancy, for the licensing of Certified Public Accountants. She is scheduled to begin her duties June 15.

Murphy brings 10 years of accounting experience to the ERB, having served as accounting manager with Qualifacts, Inc. (2013-16), senior staff auditor with Crowe Horwath, Inc. (2011-13), and senior staff accountant with NASBA, from 2006-2011, where she attained examination specific experience working directly with NASBA’s CPA Examination Services (CPAES) division. Her prior experience with NASBA will be especially valuable as she will enter the leadership role with a keen understanding of the Boards of Accountancy and the administration of the Uniform CPA Exam across all jurisdictions.

"We are excited that Sheena will be re-joining NASBA in this critical role. Her background and relationships with Boards of Accountancy and NASBA are important attributes that will enhance her effectiveness as the director of the ERB," said Bishop."

ERB Chairman, Doug Warren, CPA, stated, "Sheena will be a wonderful addition to the CPA Examination Review Board as well as to NASBA."

A graduate of Berea College, Murphy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration in 2004, and received her CPA designation in 2010. She is a former member of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) and a current member of the Tennessee Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence Board of Directors.
