SHARE: Author: Cassandra Gray, Communications Associate Director The NASBA Center for the Public Trust (CPT) is a proud professional partner of Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) and was honored to attend its 2024 Annual Meeting in Orlando, FL, this July. BAP hosted prominent speakers, student leaders, community service outings and competitions. There were 300 chapters from 32 states and three countries with a total of 700 attendees at this year’s meeting. Noelle Burton and Jasmine Gaetano represented NASBA and the CPT to promote the Accountancy Licensing Library (ALL) and CPT student programs, such as the Ethical Leadership Certification Program (ELCP) and the Student Center for the Public Trust (StudentCPT) chapter program. Additionally, CPT and NASBA staff attended the 2024 American Accounting Association (AAA) Annual Meeting in Washington, DC, in August. NASBA was an exhibitor and ‘Friends Sponsor’ at the meeting. The exhibit team, including Kyle Barrier, Jasmine Gaetano, Cassandra Gray and Erin Scruggs, manned a booth where attendees could stop by to learn about the accounting education resources available to help educators and students succeed. In addition to exhibiting, Associate Director, Communications, Cassandra Gray, participated on a panel hosted by The PhD Project, in celebration of the organization’s 30th anniversary; Bill Emmer, Vice President, Operations, represented NASBA during a meeting hosted by the American Professional Accounting Certification Providers Association (APACPA); and CPT President Sedrik Newbern and CPT Student Programs Manager Jasmine Gaetano participated in a panel discussion on the integrations of artificial intelligence (AI) and diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I). Announcements of NASBA’s 2024 Accounting Education Research Grant recipients (and opening of the 2025 Call for Proposals) and relaunch of The NASBA Report: Candidate Performance on the CPA Exam publications were also made (and well received) during the AAA Annual Meeting. |
