Enforcement NewsletterFebruary 2014The nature of IT is that technology is constantly changing. At any given point, many different state agencies are in various stages of updating their systems – upgrading to a new one, ending a relationship with a previous vendor, or forging a new relationship with another one. These are large projects that may take a long time and there are many moving parts, so it would be easy to forget about the scheduled jobs that were set up years ago. But please don’t forget the ALD feed! This feed will have to be re-established from your new system or new interface and it is ALWAYS EASIER to communicate this requirement before the overhaul is occurring or at least during the initial conversations. Please don’t let your ALD feed slip by. As you engage a new vendor or your old vendor anew, please put them in contact with Elizabeth at [email protected] so that she can communicate the requirements of your current extract. (This would also be an EXCELLENT time to include wish list requirements like disciplinary data, firm data, or automation for just a few examples.) Additionally, if you are unsure of what other types of data other Boards capture that might make your lives easier, I would be happy to send you the full list of data points we can accept here at the ALD. Not all of the data points make it into the ALD interface, but by sending it to us, we can provide a contingency plan and “back up” your data. Thanks for keeping the ALD in mind as you improve your system! |
