The National Association of State Boards of Accountancy named RubinBrown partner Colleen K. Conrad as its chief operating officer, effective Jan. 1, 2012. She will succeed Ken Bishop as COO as part of a executive succession plan as Bishop will become president and chief executive of the organization following the previously announced retirement of long-time CEO David Costello. Conrad officially joins NASBA October 31 as COO designate. A 25-year veteran of St. Louis-based RubinBrown, Conrad served as a partner in the Real Estate Services Group as well as its assurance and consulting units. She specialized in federal and state tax incentive programs, historic rehabilitation and low-income housing among other areas. Her consulting experience includes various aspects of business planning including forecasts, acquisitions and financing. She also served on the Missouri Board of Accountancy from 1997 through 2007, with two terms as chair. “She will bring a wealth of accounting expertise and in depth knowledge of Uniform CPA Examination operations, which will be a tremendous asset to our organization. Colleen’s legislative abilities, accomplishments and grasp of accounting issues—both domestic and international—will be of immediate value to our state boards,” said Bishop. |
