Enforcement NewsletterNovember 2014Upon request by the California Board of Accountancy, the Compliance Assurance Committee (CAC) hosted the first-ever open conference call for all Board of Accountancy PROC Members, Board Members and staff. The call took place on Wednesday, September 10 with 30+ registered attendees from around the country. Agenda items on the call included a report from the CAC on the National Peer Review Committee (NPRC) by CAC NPRC representative, Mark Hobbs; a report on the planning progress for the PROC Summit 2015 by Jim Gero; a discussion about the AICPA Preparation Services exposure draft lead by Alan Long; a report on the NASBA CAC/AICPA PRB Joint Meeting held in Denver by Janice Gray and a discussion about the AICOA Enhancing Audit Quality exposure draft. Additional time was also allotted for open questions to current CAC members from PROC Members. There were lively discussions on all the various topics. The call was very well-received by all and highly attended, which further proved the value of offering an open call of this nature. The CAC has agreed to host these open PROC calls twice per year in May and in November. |
