In May, I had the opportunity to step into the NASBA studio for a candidate-focused CPA Journey Insights webinar alongside guest Joe Maslott, Director – Content Management – Examinations for the AICPA. Together, we shared timely information and resources designed to help CPA candidates better understand the journey from CPA Examination eligibility through licensure.
My segment of the webinar focused on the candidate experience and NASBA’s role in helping candidates navigate an evolving licensure landscape. One of the most important areas we addressed was the continued development of new CPA licensure pathways across jurisdictions. With legislative changes occurring across the country, candidates need clear information about pathway adoption, effective dates and how changes may impact their individual journey.
We also explored the CPA Exam eligibility process and the resources NASBA provides to help candidates along the way. Using visuals to illustrate the candidate journey, I was able to provide insight into the process while highlighting tools such as the CPA Exam Candidate Guide, Accountancy Licensing Library (ALL), Licensure Pathway webpage and the NASBA CPA Mobile Appaicpa.
Joe Maslott provided the AICPA perspective, giving candidates an overview of the CPA Exam, its content and structure, as well as the CPA Exam Blueprints and other candidate resources.
Having NASBA and AICPA together in the studio allowed us to connect the different parts of the candidate journey in a single conversation. As the path to becoming a CPA continues to evolve, providing candidates with accurate, accessible and timely information is increasingly important.
For me, the webinar was a valuable opportunity to represent NASBA while helping candidates make sense of a process that can at times feel complex. Whether determining eligibility, preparing for the CPA Exam or evaluating their path toward licensure, our goal is to ensure candidates know where to find trusted resources and feel prepared to take their next step toward CPA licensure.
It was a pleasure representing NASBA and working together to support the next generation of CPAs.
