NASBA Announces 2025-26 Board Of Directors

NASHVILLE, TENN. (Oct. 28, 2025) – The National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) announces members of its Board of Directors for 2025-26. Members were installed during NASBA’s 118th Annual Meeting, held October 26–29, in Chicago, IL.

Nicola Neilon, CPA, of Carson City, NV, has acceded to the office of chair. She has previously served as vice chair, director-at-large, Mountain regional director, and secretary of the Board of Directors, and chaired the UAA, Legislative Support, Standards Setting and Professional Trends, and Relations with Member Boards committees. A past president, secretary and treasurer of the Nevada State Board of Accountancy, she also completed a three year term on the AICPA Board of Examiners. Neilon is a founding shareholder of Casey Neilon Inc., where she specializes in guiding firms in restructuring, minimizing tax obligations, and sustainable growth.

J. Coalter Baker, CPA, of Austin, TX, was elected vice chair, Baker’s association with NASBA began following his appointment to the Texas State Board of Accountancy in 2003. He is a former Southwest regional director and director-at-large of NASBA, and a former chair of NASBA’s Uniform Accountancy Act Committee (UAA), Ethics Committee and Standard Setting and Professional Trends Advisory Committee. Baker is a self-employed CPA and personal financial specialist in Austin.

Steven M. Platau, J.D., CPA, of Tampa, FL, was elected director-at-large. Platau is a member of the Florida Board of Accountancy and the AICPA’s Professional Ethics Executive Committee. He has served on NASBA’s Ethics Committee and Standard-Setting and Professional Trends Advisory Committee. Platau is a scholar in residence at BMSS, LLC (Birmingham, AL) and a professor of accounting at the University of Tampa’s John H. Sykes College of Business, where he has served on the faculty since 1984 and had two appointments as department chair that spanned more than a decade.

Martin Pittioni, of Salem, OR, was elected executive directors’ liaison. Pittioni currently serves as the executive director of the Oregon Board of Accountancy. He has proudly served on NASBA’s Executive Director, Education, Legislative Support and Uniform Accountancy Act committees as well as its CPE Model Rules Task Force.

Robert Todero, CPA, CGFM, Esq., of Washington, DC, was elected Middle Atlantic regional director. Todero serves as the chair of the District of Columbia Board of Accountancy. A member of the AICPA, Association of Government Accountants, and the District of Columbia BAR Association, he has more than 37 years of experience providing financial statement audit and financial management consulting services, including 20 years of experience providing these services to Federal government agencies. Todero is a licensed CPA in the District of Columbia and Maryland, and he is a Certified Government Finance Manager (CGFM).
