Tuesday, June 17th Welcome Reception: 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm – Promenade Kick off the Western Regional Meeting enjoying a great dinner while catching up with old friends and peers. Wednesday, June 18th Guest Tour: 10:30 am to 2:30 pm – Doctor Gumbo Food History Tour In New Orleans they are passionate about eating! On this guided tour you’ll visit up to 5 locations: classic Creole restaurants, neighborhood sandwich shops, hot sauce bars, artisanal candy stores and more. Once inside you’ll sample different foods that represent the breadth and diversity of our culinary heritage: dishes like gumbo, boudin, muffulettas, po-boys, pralines and much more. Enjoy New Orleans’ various restaurant family dynasties and learn about recipes old and new; with so many dining options in New Orleans, why not try 5 different places in one fell swoop?! The 3-hour walking tour is conducted at a leisurely pace. Most of the restaurant stops feature fully stocked bars if you’d like to enjoy a cold beverage (adult or otherwise!) during the tour. Thursday, June 19th Closing Celebration: 6:30pm to 9:00pm – House of Blues Gather as we end the Eastern Regional Meeting with an event only New Orleans can put on! Dance the night away, while enjoying great food and great conversation at the House of Blues. Located in the historic French Quarter, HOB is bursting with soul and a lot of rock and roll. |
