SHARE:  Author: Dina Barabash, Content Development & Web Specialist As a CPA candidate, one of the most important publications you can familiarize yourself with is NASBA’s Candidate Guide. Here, you will be given key information on everything you need to know, from preparing for the Exam to receiving your score(s). The Guide is intended for individuals who plan to take the Uniform Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Examination. The Examination is offered via a network of test centers across the United States and its territories, as well as Brazil, Europe, Japan, Latin America, the Middle East and South Korea. Some highlights to read through include when applying for the Exam. Make sure to apply for those sections you plan to take within the time frame listed on your Notice to Schedule (NTS). Once an NTS has expired, you will need to submit a new application, including application and testing fees. Fees submitted for an expired NTS cannot be applied to future examinations. You cannot have more than one open NTS for the same section. You must receive the score or allow the NTS to expire before you can apply for the same section again and receive a new NTS for that section. You will find this information, and more, on page 19. You will receive an email once your score has been finalized and your score notice is available for download from your NASBA CPA Candidate Account. NASBA does not release scores or score notices for CA, IL, KY, or MD. When you receive the NTS, make sure to print and read it carefully. The NTS must be taken to the Exam site. Please pay close attention to the start/end date. You can find sample NTSs on pages 20 and 21. Additionally, when scheduling your Exam, make sure to schedule far enough in advance to have the best chance to select your preferred testing date and time. Waiting until the end of your NTS will limit seat/site availability. Extensions are not granted due to seat availability. You must schedule your Examination appointment at least five days in advance of the test date. To increase the likelihood that you receive your first choice of date, time and location, you should schedule at least 45 days before the desired test date(s).
