SHARE: The National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) announces members of its Board of Directors for 2021-2022. Members were installed during NASBA’s 114th Annual Meeting, held November 2-3, 2021. W. Michael Fritz, CPA, of Blacklick, OH, acceded to the office of chair. Fritz is a retired senior partner with Deloitte & Touche LLP, in Columbus, OH, where he served as the industry professional practice director for state and local government, higher education and not-for-profit industries. He has been a member of the NASBA Board of Directors since 2013, holding previous leadership positions including vice chair, director-at-large, Great Lakes regional director, secretary, and treasurer. From 2019-2020, Fritz served as chair of NASBA’s Administration and Finance Committee and from 2013-2020, he served as chair of the Regulatory Response Committee. Fritz is a former member of NASBA’s Standard-Setting Advisory Committee, Relations with Member Boards Committee, Ethics & Strategic Issues Committee, Global Strategies Committee, Investment Committee, and Strategic Planning Task Force. In December 2015, Fritz completed a seven-year term with the Accountancy Board of Ohio where he is a former board and committee chair. A graduate of Ohio University, Fritz has served as a member of the AICPA Government Audit Quality Center Executive Board and is a past executive board member of the Ohio Society of CPAs. Richard N. Reisig, CPA, of Great Falls, MT, was elected vice chair. A former treasurer and director-at-large of NASBA, Reisig has previously served as chair of NASBA’s Administration and Finance, CBT Administration, CPA Licensing Examinations and Peer Review Compliance Committees, and as a former member of NASBA’s 120/150 Task Force, CPA Licensing Examinations Committee and Peer Review Compliance Committee. Reisig presently serves on the Financial Accounting Foundation’s Board of Trustees, and recently completed two terms on FAF’s Private Company Council and an extended term on the AICPA’s Auditing Standards Board. He has over 39 years of public accounting experience and serves his firm, Anderson ZurMuehlen & Company, P.C., as chief executive officer, working out of the Great Falls, MT office. Additionally, Reisig is a past chair of the Montana Board of Public Accountants, a past president of the Montana Society of CPAs, and a former member of the AICPA’s Governing Council. Maria E. Caldwell, CPA, of Miami, FL, was elected director-at-large and appointed chair of the Peer Review Compliance Committee. Caldwell specializes in hospitality, real estate and the gaming industries and is an audit director at Deloitte & Touche. A former NASBA Southeast regional director and director-at-large from 2014-2020, she is a former chair of NASBA’s Audit, CPE, Diversity, Enforcement Resources and Peer Review Compliance Committees, and the CPE Standards Working Group. Caldwell has also served as a member of NASBA’s Administration and Finance, CPE, Diversity and Joint AICPA/NASBA CPE Standards Committees. She is a former chair of the Florida Board of Accountancy. Faye D. Miller, CPA, of Bismarck, ND, was elected director-at-large and appointed as NASBA Communications Committee chair. Miller is currently a member of the CPA Examination Review Board, and she has been a member of NASBA’s Administration and Finance, Audit and CPE Committees. In addition, she has served as chair of NASBA’s Audit Committee. Miller is a past member and president of the North Dakota State Board of Accountancy. She has also served on the AICPA Board of Directors, AICPA Council Member-At-Large, member of the AICPA Business & Industry Executive, Audit and Political Action Committees and the BEC subcommittee. Miller is the chief auditor of the Basin Electric Power Coop. Katrina Salazar, CPA, MBA, CGMA, of Sacramento, CA, was elected director-at-large and appointed chair of the CPE Committee and CPE Standards Working Group. Salazar has served on NASBA’s Board of Directors since 2018 and is a former Pacific regional director (2018-2021) and former chair of the Bylaws and Relations with Member Boards Committees. Additionally, she has served as member of NASBA’s Enforcement Resources Committee and Strategic Planning Task Force. Salazar was appointed as a professional member to the California Board of Accountancy in 2012 by Governor Jerry Brown, where she served as president, vice president and secretary/treasurer. Today, she serves as CFO of the California Correctional Peace Officers Association, bringing more than 20 years of business and financial expertise to the organization. Nancy J. Corrigan, CPA, of Sacramento, CA, was elected Pacific regional director and appointed chair of the CBT Administration Committee. Previously, she served as a member of NASBA’s CPE Committee. Corrigan was appointed to the California Board of Accountancy (CBA) by Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr., in August 2018, elected secretary/treasurer in 2018 and elected president in 2019. Prior to her appointment, she served on the CBA’s advisory committees for over 15 years, including the Enforcement Advisory, Peer Review Oversight, and Qualifications Committees. Corrigan is a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is also a member of the California State Polytechnic University’s Accounting Department Advisory Council and Advisory to the Audit Committee of Teen Challenge of Southern California. Larry Elmore, CPA, of Knoxville, TN,was elected Southeast regional director and appointed as a member of NASBA’s Relations with Member Boards Committee and Uniform Accountancy Act Committee. Elmore has also served as member of NASBA’s Audit Committee. Currently, he is a member and secretary of the Tennessee State Board of Accountancy. Elmore holds 42 years of experience in public accounting and is a retired audit partner of Pugh CPAs, PCs where he served on the firm’s Executive Officers Committee and dedicated 40 years of service to the firm’s governmental practice and financial institutions practice. He has extensive experience in accounting and auditing to a variety of industries, including financial institutions, retail, wholesale, governmental, not for profit, and others. Michael Schmitz, CPA, of Bismarck, ND, was elected Central regional director and appointed chair of the Audit Committee and member of NASBA’s Relations with Member Boards Committee. Schmitz has served on NASBA’s Audit, Nominating and Ethics Committees. He is the managing partner of Schmitz-Holmstrom, LLP of Bismarck and Hazen, ND, providing tax, accounting and consulting services to a wide range of clients. Schmitz has over 35 years of experience in public accounting practice and private industry and more than five years as a trust officer. A graduate of the University of Mary, Schmitz is a member of the AICPA, member and past chair of the North Dakota Society of CPAs, and member of the North Dakota State Board of Accountancy. John F. Dailey, Jr., CPA, RMA, of Voorhees, NJ, was elected to a third term as director-at-large and appointed chair of the Legislative Support Committee. He has served on the Board of Directors since 2013, and previously served as Northeast regional director. Dailey has also chaired several committees, including NASBA’s CPE, Peer Review Compliance and Relations with Member Boards Committees, and CPE Standards Working Group. He is also a former co-chair of the Joint AICPA/NASBA CPE Standards Committee. Dailey served as member of NASBA’s Ethics and Professional Issues, Ethics and Strategic Issues and Joint AICPA/NASBA CPE Standards Committees. A retired partner/consultant of the firm Bowman & Company, LLP, Dailey currently serves as the firm’s ethics compliance officer.
