Leaders of the Canadian, Mexican and US accounting profession met in Toronto, Canada, June 24-25 to discuss issues of mutual concern. Representatives from CPA Canada, the Instituto Mexicano de Contadores Públicos, American Institute of CPAs and NASBA were in attendance. The US representatives brought forward ideas on embracing the evolution of the CPA profession. The Canadian leaders reported on the completion of the merger of their three professional organizations into CPA Canada. All reported on the status of their mutual recognition agreements and how the tri-party agreement bridging recognition of professionals in Mexico, Canada and the US can be promoted. NASBA President and CEO Ken Bishop observed this annual summit serves as an important event for maintaining the relationships built with the profession in Canada and Mexico.
