NASHVILLE, TENN., (SEPTEMBER 1, 2016) — The National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) invites individuals to explore its newest website, NASBAregistry.org. NASBAregistry.org (previously learningmarket.org), was designed to educate learning providers, Boards of Accountancy, CPAs and other licensed professions on the evolving trends in corporate learning and to better serve existing and prospective members of NASBA’s National Registry of CPE Sponsors (Registry). Created with the user experience in mind, the website features extensive information on the Statement on Standards for Continuing Professional Education Programs (Standards), descriptions and videos highlighting the application process for each of the approved instructional delivery methods, CPE requirements for each jurisdiction, sponsor profiles, and more. Also, as an added convenience to users, the site’s responsive design format provides an optimal viewing and interactive experience, making it easily compatible to desktop, tablet and mobile devices. Click this link for a brief tour of NASBAregistry.org. "The National Registry of CPE Sponsors takes pride in being an Advocate of CPE Quality," shared Maria L. Caldwell, Chief Legal Officer and Director of Compliance Services for NASBA. "The launch of NASBAregistry.org is one of many ways in which NASBA maintains the highest of standards as we educate and engage members of the learning provider community. We encourage CPAs, accountancy boards as well as current and prospective Registry sponsors to take full advantage of the website’s valuable resources." NASBA leaders believe the timing of the website’s launch will greatly benefit current Registry sponsors as they work to understand and implement changes imposed by the recently revised CPE Standards and NASBA Fields of Study document. Published jointly by NASBA and the AICPA, the Standards provide a foundation for the development, presentation, measurement and reporting of CPE programs. The Fields of Study document is referenced in the Standards. The Standards are effective September 1, 2016, and CPE sponsors will have until December 31, 2016, to comply with the Standards for programs currently under development. The Standards must be implemented at the next CPE program review or revision date for all other programs. The NASBA Fields of Study document is also effective as of today; however, sponsors have until December 31, 2017, to fully implement the revisions. NASBA leaders are confident the new website will further position the National Registry of CPE Sponsors as the gold standard, "seal of approval" for CPAs and others looking for quality CPE courses and providers.
