Connecting Across the Accounting Education Community

Representatives from NASBA and the NASBA Center for the Public Trust (CPT) recently attended the 2026 Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) Annual Meeting in Baltimore, MD, and the American Accounting Association (AAA) Global Connect in Las Vegas, NV. Both events offered valuable opportunities to connect with BAP student chapter members and their faculty advisors, educators, PhD students, CPA Exam review course providers, as well as partner organizations from across the accounting profession.

NASBA and the CPT were honored to participate alongside exhibitors and sponsors whose innovative products, services and programs continue to support teaching, research and professional development in accounting.

Highlights from the meetings included:

NASBA announced the recipients of its 2026 Accounting Education Research Grants and opened the 2027 Call for Proposals.
CPT served as a Professional Partner during the BAP Annual Meeting, while NASBA served as a Friends Sponsor of AAA Global Connect.
William Emmer, NASBA Chief Operating Officer, and Kyle Barrier, Associate Director, Client Services, hosted an interactive faculty roundtable on “Preparing the Next Generation of CPAs.” The discussion explored ways to enhance CPA Exam performance metrics to better meet the needs of accounting programs and highlighted a new reporting tool designed to provide insights into candidate performance and support program improvement.
Students and educators learned about the benefits of NASBA’s CPA Mobile App, which has surpassed 75k downloads since its launch.

Accounting Faculty received complementary subscriptions to NASBA’s Accountancy Licensing Library (ALL) and expressed interest in the CPT’s modernized Ethical Leadership Certification Program.Kara McAlister, Clinical Assistant Professor at Clemson University, won a copy of The NASBA Report: Candidate Performance on the CPA Exam – 2025 Edition in a special drawing.

NASBA and CPT appreciated the opportunity to engage with the academic community and industry partners at both meetings. We look forward to reconnecting at the 2027 Beta Alpha Psi and American Accounting Association annual conferences in Orlando.
