NASBA Celebrates Excellence in Accounting with Presentation of 2025 Awards

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (October 28, 2025) — The National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) today recognized three distinguished leaders in accounting regulation during its 118th Annual Meeting, held this week in Chicago, Illinois. The 2025 NASBA Awards Ceremony celebrated the leadership and dedication of Janice L. Gray, CPA; Faye D. Miller, CPA; and Viki A. Windfeldt, whose collective contributions have strengthened NASBA’s mission and advanced accounting regulation across the 55 U.S. jurisdictions.
The William H. Van Rensselaer Public Service Award was presented to Janice L. Gray, CPA, of Norman, Oklahoma, a former NASBA chair (2018–2019) recognized for her enduring impact on state and national regulatory initiatives. Gray’s service to the Oklahoma Accountancy Board spanned two five-year terms, during which she led the development of Oklahoma’s Peer Review Program and continues to serve on the Peer Review Oversight Committee. She has also contributed nationally through the AICPA’s Professional Ethics Executive Committee, Accounting and Review Services Committee, Technical Issues Committee, and Peer Review Board.
The NASBA Distinguished Service Award was presented to Faye D. Miller, CPA, of Bismarck, North Dakota, recognizing her dedication to advancing the mission of NASBA. Miller is a former director-at-large and Central regional director of NASBA, and a former chair of NASBA’s Audit and Communications committees. A past president of both the North Dakota State Board of Accountancy and North Dakota CPA Society, Miller currently serves as chief auditor for Basin Electric Power Cooperative and chair of the CPA Examination Review Board.
The Lorraine P. Sachs Standard of Excellence Award was presented to Nevada State Board of Accountancy Executive Director Viki A. Windfeldt, of Reno, Nevada, recognizing her three decades of regulatory leadership. Windfeldt is regarded for mentoring executive directors and contributing to NASBA through her work with the Executive Directors Committee, Peer Review Compliance Committee, ALD Task Force, Enforcement Practices Committee, and CEO Selection Committee. She previously received this honor in 2014, a rare distinction reflecting her enduring impact and leadership within the . regulatory community.
