NASBA and the AICPA have released an exposure draft proposing updates to the Statement on Standards for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Programs (Standards). These revisions address the evolving landscape of learning and delivery methods, ensuring the Standards remain current with technological advances and the diverse needs of today’s professionals.
The proposed updates were developed by the CPE Standards Working Group, drawing on feedback from regulators, sponsors, and industry stakeholders. Their goal is to clarify requirements, enhance flexibility, and uphold the high quality expected of NASBA- and AICPA-approved CPE programs. Both an explanatory memo and a redline comparison to the 2024 version are available for review:
The exposure period is open through December 16, 2025. Stakeholders are encouraged to submit comments via the Comment Submission Form. Your feedback will be integral in finalizing these updates and maintaining the high standard for professional education programs.
