After lunch, explore the Charleston City Market, one of the nation’s oldest public markets and home to of the famous Sweetgrass Baskets, in the cultural heart of Charleston.

Start your day discovering why Charleston is called the Holy City when you visit 6-10 churches and explore the history, congregation, and architecture of each. We will kick off this fantastic walking journey highlighting two deeply rooted churches and what their presence means in Charleston, St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church and Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim Jewish Synagogue. Other stops will be the Unitarian Church and graveyard, The First Baptist Church, St. Michael’s Episcopal, St. Phillip’s Episcopal and the French Huguenot Church.
After lunch, see Charleston by the sea. Take in Fort Moultrie, where Revolutionaries fought back the British. See Fort Sumter, the birthplace of the Civil War. Get a look at the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier. See the Cooper River Bridge, the longest cable-stay bridge in North America and the Morris Island Lighthouse.
