State Board ReportJuly 2008Panelists at the 2008 Eastern and the Western Regional Meetings debated the merits of requiring 120 semester credit hours to take the Uniform CPA Examination or requiring 150 hours to take it. The panels, moderated by NASBA Chief Relations Officer Alfonzo Alexander, did not question the value of the 150?hour education requirement for licensure, rather when the examination could be taken. As of June 2008, there were 19 state boards that allowed candidates to sit for the examination at 120 hours while requiring 150 hours for licensure. |
