Grant for Computer Based Literacy Bill Martin, director of community affairs for VERIZON, granted $8,500 to the students and tutors of the Long Island based Literacy Nassau organization. Supporting literacy, especially through the use of technology goes to the heart of what VERIZON’s philanthropic efforts are all about,” Martin stated. The grant is a big first-step in providing technology services to low level literacy adults. Literacy Nassau hopes that computer camp classes will encourage and increase the use of technology in literacy learning.
