November 2014

CourthouseNASBA and the Enforcement Resources Committee are continually looking for ways to help boards with their enforcement efforts. It was recently brought to our attention that some states use the Federal Audit Clearinghouse to identify firms located in their states that conduct audits.

The Federal Audit Clearinghouse (FAC) operates on behalf of the Office of Management and Budget. FAC provides a database that includes data on single audits performed in a specific jurisdiction in a specific year. In August 2014, we ran searches for each state and sent those results to the boards.

To find additional details on a specific auditor, go to https://harvester.census.gov/fac/dissem/accessoptions.html and click on #5 Advanced Entity Search. If you have any questions about this information or the search process, please contact Stacey Grooms at [email protected].
